This Privacy Policy explains what personal data the Interval app (the “Service”) collects, why, and your choices. The Service is operated from Switzerland and processes data in line with applicable Swiss (FADP) and EU (GDPR) law.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Account creation and email verification. |
| Username and profile details you provide | To identify you to other users. |
| Content you create (events, comments, chat messages, RSVPs) | To operate the core features of the Service. |
| Event location you enter (address, coordinates) | To show events on a map. Geocoding is performed server-side; we do not collect your device's GPS location in the background. |
| Device push token | To deliver notifications you have opted into. |
| Diagnostic / crash data | To detect and fix errors and keep the Service stable. |
We use your data to provide and maintain the Service, verify your account, deliver notifications, show events and their locations, moderate content, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
We rely on a small number of processors who handle data on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging) | Delivering push notifications. |
| Google Sign-In | Optional sign-in, if you choose it. |
| Geoapify | Converting the addresses you type into map coordinates. |
| Sentry | Crash and error diagnostics. |
These providers process data only as needed for the purposes above.
When you report content or block a user, we store the report and the block so we can review and act on it. Reports are retained as needed to enforce our Terms of Use.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or to enforce our Terms.
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can edit your profile and delete your account from within the app. For any other request, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
The Service is not directed to children under 17, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
